Jordan’s Care Column
Happy Sunday everyone! It’s Jordan here and welcome back to Jordan’s Care Column where I talk a little bit about self-care and my random thoughts from the week. Today I am specifically going to focus on how I have grown to enjoy rainy days.
These past few days weather wise have been gross, sticky, and ugly in my opinion. I am not a fan of the rain, however seeing as it is 2024 and I have decided to take a more positive outlook on life, I have found a reason to enjoy rainy days. I have realized that rainy days are an excuse to perform extra self-care activities that I don’t typically do in my everyday routine. Whenever it’s sunny out, I am kind of forced to be out and about and tend to all of my responsibilities. This is good, but I sometimes get so caught up in completing my big girl tasks that I neglect my self-care. I think a lot of people are guilty of this as well.
Anywho, my favorite self-care activities to participate in on rainy days include drinking tea in a cute mug with my suitemates (who are both coincidentally named Ellie), watching Harry Potter Movies, and cleaning my room. The last one may seem a little bizarre, however, I have found that cleaning my space is very relaxing and when I have a clear space I have a clear mind.
As I get closer to the end of my blurb, I encourage you to reflect on what self-care activities add value to your life and put your mind at ease. Whether they be big or small, as long as it works for you that is all that matters. You deserve to spoil yourself with a little extra self-care, SO DO IT AND DO NOT FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT!!! Also, enjoy this photo of my cat, Bailey, soaking up the California sunshine.
Lots of love,
Jordan
