Jordan’s Care Column
Hi everyone! My name is Jordan, I am a freshman and I’ll be a Personal Development and Wellness intern this semester.
Happy Sunday everyone and WELCOME TO 2024! I have a feeling it’s going to be a very fulfilling year for all of us. I hope everyone had a restful weekend full of self-care and other healing activities because you deserve to treat yourself after a long week. This may involve attending your favorite workout class (mine is yoga), treating yourself to an iced blueberry matcha at dulce, or even just taking a nice afternoon nap. Whatever it may be, as long as it is healing for you, that is all that matters.
I have always enjoyed the new year because it feels as though the possibilities are endless. I think everyone can relate to these feelings of hope and excitement which is why so many people make New Year’s resolutions. However, I have never been one to partake in these trends because I would often find myself making unrealistic goals and feeling discouraged at the end of the year when I didn’t accomplish everything on my list. But, this year is different! I decided to partake in a similar trend going around on Tik Tok. This trend is making a list of your 2024 In’s and Out’s. I think this is a slightly better version of the New Year’s resolution trend because it also involves reflecting on things that you would like to leave behind in the old year. Recognizing the things that do not add value to your life is just as important as recognizing the things you would like to accomplish in the New Year.
I think everyone should take a few minutes out of their day to journal about your 2024 In’s and Out’s. I would say that 2024 is definitely the year of self-care and prioritizing our mental health so why not start off the year with just that! Anyway, I hope everyone has a fulfilling week and feel free to reach out and share your 2024 In’s and Out’s list!
All my love,
Jordan
